Our Team

Nicki Werner, co-founder, Director of Brewing and Operations.

Nicki has been brewing professionally for 6 years in Colorado, Wisconsin, and South Dakota. Nicki got started brewing when they were hired to be a janitor at a startup in 2014. Yup, the janitor/brewing crossover is real.

Nicki was a scholarship recipient through the Pink Boots Society, and studied beer and brewing in Bavaria, Germany. Their recipes have been distributed nationally and internationally. Beer and craftsmanship are their passion and Nicki is excited to share them with Jefferson.

Anthony Roark, co-founder, Director of Design, Sales, and Maintenance. Many hat wearer.

Anthony is a butcher, a baker, and…no, candles are not their thing. An experienced butcher, Anthony is excited to bring their sausage making experience to Jefferson, as well as extend their other skills to various parts of the business. Born and raised in Jefferson, Anthony is excited to grow this business in the place they call home.

Michaeleen Roark, Director of Accounting and Affairs, chief mother hen

If you’ve been to Jefferson, you probably already know Michaeleen. She has been the City Finance officer for the City of Jefferson for over 30 years. She keeps the city running, from managing the utilities like water and garbage to working on the budget, taxes, and infrastructure projects like the lagoon and the playground. She is a school bus driver, volunteer EMT, Days of 59’ coordinator, community center manager, and town’s busiest citizen. She has lived in Jefferson for over 40 years.

Andy McIntosh, Production Lead, Great with sound effects

Andy is a Jefferson native (went to EPJ and DV!), our employee numero uno, and long time member of our chosen family. He’s been in the beer industry before too! After his time in the Navy, he was part of a logistics crew at a big brewery in Colorado, getting things where they needed to go. Here at JBS he has literally helped build everything from the ground up, from pop-up events, to construction to slinging beers behind the bar. You will find him mostly in the back of house these days getting his hours in on the brewhouse and tightening up our processes.

Annabel Dirksen, Event Coordinator and Professional Chatterbox

Annabel Dirksen has been in the entertainment industry going on five years, and absolutely loves brainstorming up fun events and activities for the community to participate in. She is also passionate about beer, having a dad who homebrewed, making the smells of hops and cooking grains all too familiar.

She is currently finishing her Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and is passionate about collaboration. She loves working with the wide variety of groups who partner with JBS. Bringing people together for fun times and good beer is what it’s all about!
